Review with Menu and Map
Deep in London's theatre district, The Cambridge is a great spot for ale and pie before a performance at one of the nearby theaters, or for a few post-performance drinks. Service and ambience are top-notch. The Cambridge pub is perhaps our favorite watering hole in Soho.

Deep in London's theatre district, The Cambridge is a great spot for ale and pie before a performance at one of the nearby theaters, or for a few post-performance drinks. Built in 1887 on the site of The King's Arms, it is next to the Palace Theatre, formerly the Royal English Opera House lies in the heart of Soho, a royal hunting ground in the days of Henry VIII.
The Cambridge offers the look and feel of a traditional British pub but is a bit better maintained and more professionally managed than many, if not most, local pubs. It's our favorite haunt in Soho for a pie or bangers and mash. Regretably, unlike many Nicholson's pubs, The Cambridge doesn't offer a Sunday roast on the menu. The best option for a Sunday roast in a pub atmosphere nearby is The Windmill in Mayfair, but that locale is bit on the upscale side. For some a bit more "pubbish" you could try another Nicholson's pub within walking distance, The Marquis of Granby on Rathbone, in Fitzrovia, a stone's throw from The Cambridge.
They offer roasts and all the fixins on Sundays.
But for a variety of unique meat pies, a delicious plate of fish n chips or a toad in the hole, you won't find a better choice in Soho than The Cambridge.
