The Ship Tavern sits on the boundary dividing London's Mayfair neighborhood, home to the majority of the city's 5-star hotels, Mayfair's more Bohemian and trendy neighbor, Soho. It's the most traditional of all the pubs in the area, sporting a décor that shouts traditional olde-London, with benches upholstered in a rich red and gold brocade and, of course, lots of framed paintings depicting hunting dogs and mounted nobility on the hunt.

The menu offers a variety of pub classics supplemented by a more upscale spattering of traditional British restaurant fare, such as one of the city's best renditions of Beef Wellington.

Service is commendable and execution of the expansive menu is typically spot-on.

The prices are a bit higher than your typical pub but not prohibitively so considering the slightly more elevated environment and menu.
