Cambio is one of the few restaurants in Rome’s Trastavere neighborhood that offers a fresh, contemporary look at Italian cuisine in a sleek, contemporary ambience. No red-checkered tablecloths here. No kitschy, outdated décor. Welcome to Rome of the 21st century. Beware … at first glance the menu looks as if the restaurant offers burgers. They are, in fact, sandwiches (like a grilled octopus sandwich) on a bun.

With the opening of Rimessa Roscioli, the family has ventured into the upscalel end of the casual dining spectrum offering a slightly upscale, contemporary touch to traditional Italian cuisine. The restaurant and cooking class, coupled with an Italian tasting menu matched with Italian wines, tutored by the restaurants chefs and sommeliers, is big hit with tourists and locals alike. Almost every tour agency in the city includes the class and tasting menu as part of their regular tour activities. But it’s also a great spot for a reasonably priced, classy little Italian meal.
